Madison, Wisconsin - Contact: Gene Ferrera 608-843-7740
Earthdance is the world's largest synchronized music and dance festival for
peace. Beginning in 1997 Earthdance sites in over 500 locations in 80
countries have annually held simultaneous celebrations to activate peace
through creative expression, activism and community building. Individuals at
these events and gatherings across the globe all join in the Earthdance
Prayer for Peace in the same powerful moment.
2010's focus is Embracing all traditions - recognizing and honoring the
diversity of faith and cultures that make up one human family.
This year Earthdance and One Peace Jerusalem have joined forces so that
Earthdance day celebrations on September 18 will begin an 8 day period of
peace that will culminate in a world-wide synchronized prayer for peace in
the holy land on September 26, 2010. At the break of dawn on that day One
Peace Jerusalem will send a bold statement of peace from the holy city of
Jerusalem as rabbis from all sects along with Muslim Sheiks, Christian
leaders and representatives from religious groups world-wide will unite in a
global prayer for peace.
The Center for Conscious Living at 849 East Washington Avenue will be
hosting Madison, Wisconsin's Earthdance celebration. It will run from
